
Victor Marchezini is one of the co-chairs of the Subseasonal Applications for Agriculture and Environment (SAGE). He served as a visiting postdoctoral researcher at the Natural Hazards Center, University of Colorado - Boulder, with the support of Fapesp (2022-2023). He worked as a disaster risk analyst in the monitoring room of the Brazilian Warning Center (Cemaden) from 2012 to 2014. Since 2014, he has worked as a researcher at Cemaden. Additionally, he serves as a professor at the Doctorate Program in Earth System Science at the National Institute for Space Research (CCST/INPE) and at the Postgraduate Program in Disaster Science (ICT/UNESP). He is coordinating a five-year project called COPE (Capacities of Organizations to Cope with Extreme Events). He serves as the Brazilian Principal Investigator of the BRIC-BAC project, which is part of the BRICS Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Framework Programme.
